555 law firms worldwide practising Citizenship by Investment. Narrow down by city to find a firm near you.
Citizenship by investment allows a person to acquire a second nationality through a donation to a state fund or a qualifying investment, usually in real estate. Lawyers guide applicants through programme choice, document gathering, due diligence checks, and the oath or registration that completes naturalisation. Several programmes let a spouse, children and parents join the same file.
Only a small group of countries offers citizenship by investment, and each one sets its own law, approved agents and price thresholds. Caribbean states have long run such programmes. Elsewhere, governments have closed or restricted them following criticism from the European Commission and other partners. Visa-free travel arrangements can be suspended by third countries, so the value of a passport may change after you obtain it. Your home country may also restrict dual nationality.
Citizenship by investment fees typically combine a fixed legal fee with government charges, due diligence costs and the investment itself. In some programmes applications must go through a licensed agent, and lawyers act in that role or alongside it. Success fees are rare and should be read with care. Timing has several layers. Processing often takes months, documents must be fresh when submitted, and real estate usually has to be held for a minimum number of years before resale.
Before signing, ask the firm whether it is a licensed agent, how it handles a refusal and whether any part of the fee is refundable. Ask what independent checks it makes on developers and how it treats tax and reporting duties. Filter by country or city below.
